Facilitated by Ami T.
Sometimes the best way to understand Agile is to stop talking about it and start playing it. Simulation games make abstract concepts — flow, WIP limits, estimation bias, the cost of handoffs — visceral and memorable in a way lectures rarely can.
This session runs two or three short simulation games as a group (such as a ball-point game for iterative delivery, or a simple Kanban flow simulation), with a facilitated debrief after each one connecting what happened at the table to real Agile principles.
Learning Objectives
Experience Agile concepts (iteration, flow, WIP limits, estimation) through hands-on simulation rather than lecture.
Learn how to facilitate a simulation game for your own team, including debrief technique.
Connect what happens in the simulation directly back to real workplace patterns.
Who Should Attend?
Everyone — simulations work for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, and this session is especially useful for anyone who wants a repeatable, engaging way to teach Agile concepts to a skeptical team.
Key Takeaways
Direct, memorable experience of core Agile concepts.
At least one simulation game participants can facilitate for their own team.
A stronger intuitive (not just theoretical) grasp of why iterative, flow-based work outperforms big-batch delivery.
