Sprint Planning is one of the most important events in Scrum, and for teams working on complex projects, it can be a challenging task. This session will break down how to prepare effectively for Sprint Planning, ensuring that the Product Backlog is well-refined, the team’s capacity is understood, and the Sprint Goal is clear and actionable. Participants will learn how to prioritize work, estimate tasks accurately, and ensure that the team commits to achievable objectives during the Sprint. We’ll cover best practices for planning in environments with high uncertainty, multiple dependencies, and competing priorities.
Participants will also learn about advanced estimation techniques such as Planning Poker and T-shirt sizing, which can help teams make informed decisions about what to include in their Sprint Backlog. We will also focus on how to handle changes or new information that arises during the Sprint and how to keep the team on track while maintaining flexibility.
Through interactive exercises and real-world case studies, participants will practice conducting effective Sprint Planning meetings and leave with tools to manage complex projects more effectively. By the end of the session, participants will be able to confidently lead Sprint Planning sessions that set their teams up for success.
