Mid-sprint check-in to review progress, demo work-in-progress, remove blockers, and adjust plans as needed. This is where Agile’s flexibility shows its power.

Welcome to Sprint 1:

You’ve been building for a few days now. This mid-sprint check-in helps ensure we’re on track for the Sprint Goal and removes any impediments.

Mid-Sprint Standup Format:

Each team or individual shares:
• What I’ve completed since Saturday
• What I’m working on now
• What I’m stuck on or need help with
• Whether I’m on track for my Sprint commitment

Demos of Work-in-Progress:

• Show what you’ve built so far (even if not finished)
• Get feedback from instructors and peers
• Identify issues early before they become problems
• Celebrate progress and momentum

Common Blockers We’ll Address:

• Technical challenges with AI-generated code
• Integration issues with existing systems
• Unclear acceptance criteria or requirements
• Time management with work/life/project balance
• Collaboration and communication issues

Pair Programming Sessions:

• Working together on stuck problems
• Learning from each other’s approaches
• Code review and quality checks
• Sharing techniques that are working well

Adjusting the Sprint Plan:

• Re-estimating remaining work
• Adjusting Sprint scope if necessary
• Re-prioritizing stories if needed
• Ensuring Sprint Goal is still achievable
• Being honest about what’s realistic

Technical Deep Dives:

• Solving specific technical challenges together
• Understanding integration approaches
• Best practices for AI prompting based on what’s working
• Debugging techniques for common issues

Testing and Quality:

• How to test your features
• Writing test cases
• Manual testing vs automated testing
• Quality checks before considering something “done”
• Getting ready for Sprint Review

Preparing for Sprint Review:

• What to demo on Saturday
• How to present your work
• Gathering feedback from stakeholders
• Polishing features for presentation

What to Complete Before Saturday:

• Finish any incomplete stories (or adjust scope)
• Test your features thoroughly
• Prepare demo script and environment
• Document what you built and learned
• Be ready to reflect in retrospective

Benefits of Attending This Session:

Participants will get unblocked on technical challenges, receive feedback to improve their work, adjust plans to stay on track, and learn from seeing others’ progress. Mid-sprint check-ins are where Agile’s inspect-and-adapt cycle happens in real time.
